Two Pakistani Women
Karachi, Dec 20 (AFP) Two women were killed in southern Pakistan when a man beat them to death with sticks during an apparent exorcism, police said today.
The incident occurred today in the remote village of Mirpur Khas in southern Sindh province, local police officer Munir Sheikh told AFP.
"We were told that a self-styled exorcist beat two women, aged 47 and 20, who were brought to him because they were thought to have been afflicted by evil spirits,"he said.
Police said they were investigating the incident but that no arrests had been made thus far. Fake magicians commonly roam from town to town in Pakistan conning superstitious local people.
